We were so honored and excited to be asked to do a soap-making demo at Northeastern Kansas Beekeepers Association annual Fun Day in Douglas County. We made our Bees Knees Bergamot-Orange Honey Oatmeal soap, using our own honey and beeswax.
We brought in over 300 small bales of hay last weekend. We like the small bales for feeding the sheep in the winter. They can be rolled out in the pasture, giving the sheep room to graze and also spreading fertility throughout the pasture.
What a year for calves! Our newest addition arrived sometime in the past two weeks. Scott and Genevieve first saw him or her when out for an evening ride in the utility vehicle. We've had eight calves over the past year and half, increasing the herd size and bringing a lot of extra fun to the farm.
